Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS)
KANA’s Economic Development Program partners with the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) to produce and update the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the Kodiak Archipelago. The regional CEDS is a publicly facilitated five-year plan that summarizes Kodiak’s various communities and showcases economic development plans and concerns. The document addresses the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats across Kodiak’s communities and their large economic clusters.
KANA’s Economic Development Program works closely with industry, community, and tribal stakeholders; this involvement includes traveling to villages, economic tours and interviews, hosting public engagement conversations, and publishing economic development newsletters.
