KANA’s Community Services Department is located on the first floor of our Near Island facility, providing a wide variety of services to meet our community's social and economic needs. Our goals are to encourage and support career development and economic self-sufficiency of our people, promote healthy families, provide tribal contacts and services, and promote safe communities on Kodiak Island.

Community Services supports and administers tribal operations for the federally recognized tribal entities of Akhiok, Kaguyak and Tangirnaq Tribes. In the village of Akhiok, KANA's works closely with the tribal administrators, managers, and secretaries for both the Native Village of Akhiok and Kaguyak Village. In the City of Kodiak, Tangirnaq Native Village is supported by KANA Community Services Project Manager, Tribal Operations Specialist, and Community Services Director. Our Tribal Operations Specialist works closely with the Community Services Administrative Assistant and serves as a point of contact to reach all of the tribes as necessary.

Our friendly and capable staff look forward to providing the best possible services in accordance with our mission statement: “To Elevate the Quality of Life of the People We Serve."
